WHAT
The Professional Woman’s Career Network is a professional group that provides a support system to working single moms. Support may include, but are not limited to, access to jobs, skill matching, purposeful coaching, mentoring, and networking, as well as business development.
WHY
Research indicates that single moms face different types of barriers to upward mobility in the workplace. Biases and the lack of resources personally and professionally hinder these women more so than other population groups. These barriers also contribute to the lack of resources for single moms who strive to become business owners. PWCN is an initiative to help mitigate or eliminate these challenges.
AUDIENCE
PWCN was formed to support graduates of The Drake House and The Drake Village programs.
FORMAT
PWCN will conduct quarterly meetings hosted by sponsor companies in their place of business. Childcare and light refreshments will be provided. Virtual meetings will be conducted until face to face is appropriate.
